Step 1

Find something to 3D scan. 

You'll be using a smartphone app to 3D scan objects. Very large objects won't have fine details, and objects with lots of small parts may not scan correctly. Don’t go too small either! If it’s too small you won’t get all the detail. 

Step 2

When picking an object to scan:

• Don’t pick an object that is too shiny, reflective or transparent (see through). If an object is too reflective, the smartphone app will struggle to resolve the object.
• Choose a stable object. Select something that isn’t going to wobble, roll around or move. 

Step 3

Choose an object you want to scan. It could be something from the workspace around you, something from inside your bag or maybe an object you have brought from home.
