To set up your sewing machine, the first thing you need to do is wind thread onto an empty bobbin.
A sewing machine bobbin holds the thread, which is fed up from underneath the fabric you are sewing. You fill a bobbin with the same thread you are using at the top of the sewing machine on the spool.
Set your spool of thread and bobbin in position.
Make sure that the spool cap is on and the thread is wrapped round the bobbin to hold it in place.
Slide the bobbin winder to the right until it snaps into place like this:
Make sure that the thread is well-secured around the bobbin and kept taut between the spool and the bobbin.
Adjust the speed controller to the right (fastest setting).
Press the foot pedal to start winding your bobbin. Once the bobbin is full of thread, release the foot pedal to stop.
Cut the thread once you are finished.
Now you need to insert your full bobbin into the sewing machine.
Open the bobbin cover using the latch
Insert the bobbin into the space and make sure the thread is travelling in the correct direction.
Use the inbuilt thread cutter to cut the thread as shown above.
Put the bobbin cover back in place.
