Unit 6 - Set up Toolpaths for 3D Milling
Import your 3D model
Learn to use the Modelling menu in VCarve Pro to import 3D models and set them up for CNC milling.
In Initial Orientation, select the appropriate orientation to have your 3D model laying flat in the material.
Leave all the other settings as they are and select OK.
You will now get a 3D preview of your 3D model.
Step 1
Select the Modelling tab in the bottom left corner then select the folder icon to import your 3D model.
Step 2
Click on Import a component or 3D model from the 3D Model Tools menu and select the 3D model you created in Unit 4 and open it in VCarve Pro.
Step 3
The Orientate 3D Model dialogue box will now open giving you a preview of your 3D model and its orientation in the material. The material is defined as a red wireframe box.In Initial Orientation, select the appropriate orientation to have your 3D model laying flat in the material.
Leave all the other settings as they are and select OK.
You will now get a 3D preview of your 3D model.
